The weekend never seems long enough...

I decided, that while I take my time painting the Space Wolves, I would give my small Grey Knight force a simple paint job, so that I may have a fully painted army to use at our current 40K league, as well as upcoming tournaments. It doesn't matter how much time I threw in, however, this weekend just wasn't long enough to get them all done.

From left to right: Purgation Squads are primed, Strike Squad 1 is basecoated, Strike Squad 2 is inked, Purifier Squad is drybrushed, and Brotherhood Champ is detailed. Hope to bring them up to speed soon, along with their tanks:

It'll have to wait until next weekend...

Too many projects, not enough hands!

So I'm back from a much deserved holiday at home. Unfortunately I didn't bring any figures with me, so my armies are painfully behind in terms of paint and even assembly. I also managed to expand to one extra Warhammer 40K and Warmachine faction over break. Disgusting.

In order of painting priority:

Space Wolves. I can finally field fully painted lists (sometimes). 13th Company Space Wolves are coming along rather well, although I still have about 20 unpainted grey hunters.

Imperial Guard. To make a competitive list for OFCC, an upcoming tournament, I have added Imperial Guard allies to the Space Wolves, which helps me overcome two weaknesses; not having enough scoring units, and not having flyers. To make them match my 13th Company, I kitbashed Marauders of Chaos with Catachan Jungle Fighters to make Fenrisian Guard, probably the least disciplined unit of the Imperium. Unfortunately this means I have 30 extra bodies to paint and two Vendettas to put together and paint before August. Sigh.

Grey Knights. These guys are assholes on the table. Their codex is so OP, there are options you simply do not take if you want to stay friends with the people you play. I never really cared for them, also because they have very plain models. But, I inherited 40 custom Grey Knights in power armor, made to look like wolves, every single one. So I threw in 3 razorbacks and one Land Raider I had left over from my Space Wolves and BAM!, a 2000 point list. This gets me around both problems, as the list is not very competitive, and the models look very original. I've only had to made the one model from scratch, a Brotherhood Champion to serve as the HQ, which I have also painted. Now if I could only get around to painting the other 40 guys...

Retribution of Scyrah. What can I say. I love these models. They are beautiful. I couldn't resist. But alas, they fall pretty low on my list of priorities, so who knows when they'll even be assembled...

Ugh.
